There are Roman ruins, people and animals on a river bank, with other buildings and a castle in the background. The border has a floral pattern.
This popular Copeland Spode Italian pattern has been made for a long time, beginning around 1816. I'm not sure of the exact age but the oval blue mark found on the back of this plate was in use from around 1891 until 1970. There are also impressed numbers that look a 11.
Has Copeland Spode’s Italian England / 4 stamp = pre 1970.
The mark on the back is the blue oval mark. This plate is also impressed with a Copeland crown mark.
There is no chips, cracks or crazing.
Diameter of this plate is approx. 10-1/2".
